There’s always a “why” behind everything.
The why is, in fact, the reason you may be attracted to a certain person or why you’re loyal to a specific brand.
And this blog is no different.
My why is YOU.
If you’re here, you’re the type of person who wants to find alternatives to help get you through your digestive distress. Or maybe you just want a new way to think about ingredients in your food and life.
You might be experiencing issues with certain types of food and want to build on your usual meals. You may just want your healthy food to taste better.
Well, all of that is possible. But first, I would like you to know a little more about me.
For the better part of 10 years, I’ve been dealing with a plethora of digestive issues. When I was diagnosed with IBS about 8 years ago, I remember feeling like I had no direction on what to do next.
The doctor simply handed me a faded photocopy of suggested foods to stay away from. A little clip art apple right next to the instruction “DO NOT EAT Acidic Foods” stared at me in the face.
“WTF? I can’t have an apple now?”
Little did I know that IBS is a trash can diagnosis.
Therein started my wellness journey. Between my countless diets (sprinkled with some “eff this” periods of my life) and relentless determination for figuring out exactly what my body needs, I learned that there is no one magical solution for everyone.
We’re all different. And that’s beautiful.
It’s important that you learn what’s best for YOUR body (and mind) and understand that it’s a never ending journey. One that can be frustrating (not to mention devastating) at times. But ultimately, it’s worth it when you are able to actively pursue new and inventive ways to enjoy your old favorites. And I’m here to help.
Whether you’re avoiding dairy or feeling like you’re not where you’re supposed to be in life, Just Pure Enjoyment has what you need to continue to discover how to be your best self.
The main inspiration for this blog is food and it’s easy to see! There’s plenty to read regarding everything from food trips to information on cuisines from all over the world. The bonus? You won’t feel the need to sacrifice taste for health. I also do the heavy lifting with regards to food research and vetting ingredients. And I’m more than happy to!
I’m so excited to go on this journey with you. And don’t forget to reach out to me with any comments or questions.
